Mark has been involved in property and investment all of his working life, starting at 16 back in 1997. Mark established Landmark Investments in 2000. Mark received the Prime Minister’s Points of Light award (2020) for his work in encouraging companies to donate over £1,500,000 to charity.
Ben Ogunby
Acquisitions Director
Ben began his career in property as an estate agent in 2001. He ran the acquisitions function within a number of investment property companies, before a chance meeting in 2007 with CEO Mark Hawthorn led to Ben joining the Landmark Group as Acquisitions Director.
Joel Taylor-Spencer
Finance Director
Joel joined Landmark as Finance Manager in 2021 and has rapidly progressed through the business, becoming Financial Controller in early 2024 and stepping into the role of Group Finance Director in 2025. An ACA Chartered Accountant, Joel brings strong technical expertise and commercial acumen to the role. He leads the finance function across the group, playing a key role in supporting Landmark’s strategic growth and portfolio expansion.
David Lathwood
Non-Executive Director
David has over 35 years of experience in the property industry, most recently as North West Chairman and International Director at JLL. He also retains a real estate related Senior Advisor role at Rothschild & Co.
Steve Nobes
Non-Executive Director
Steve is an experienced director in growth, disruptive or unique businesses. Having worked with both John Caudwell (Phones 4u, Caudwell Group) and Noel Mckee (webuyanycar & BCA) he was a proven CFO with a track record of generating billions in stakeholder value. Steve also sits on the board of private equity backed fintech businesses as either NED or Chair.
Alex Veys

Alex has worked for more than 30 years in finance gaining experience in banking, fund management and insurance. Recently, he has specialised in insurance being the Chief Investment Officer for Hiscox and Partnership Assurance where he was responsible for multi-billion pound investment portfolios.
Caron Schreuder
Marketing Consultant
Caron has close to 15 years’ experience in event management, media and marketing, 12 of those spent publishing news and managing marketing for specialist property finance firms. She has launched and run a trade show, several websites and countless marketing campaigns within the real estate lending market, and co-created the Bridging & Commercial Magazine, widely considered the best in its class.
Gareth Milner
Group Legal Counsel
Gareth worked at a Tier 1 ranked law firm based in the City of London before moving in-house to Landmark Group in 2021.
